If reports are to be believed, the TATA IPL 2023 will begin on March 20. The tournament is an action-packed extravaganza and has some of the best cricketing talents on display. With that being said, it is the batters who make the game look beautiful. A smooth cover drive, a silky straight drive, a well-timed scoop shot, and an iconic helicopter shot! All these are the things that add immense value to the game and make it exciting. So, who are the top 5 batters who can possibly win the orange cap this season? Here is a look:

KL Rahul Can Win the Orange Cap in TATA IPL 2023:

If there is one man who has scored mountains of runs in the IPL for the past 4 seasons, it is KL Rahul. Season in, season out, KL has been phenomenal. He has been toiling and has scored 500+ runs in each of the last 4 editions. That speaks volumes about the consistency that he possesses. This time around too, he has a good chance of winning the orange cap. He will be leading the Lucknow Super Giants and will be opening for them. He will have ample time as well because De Kock is more of an explosive opener.

David Warner Can Win the Orange Cap in TATA IPL 2023:

David Warner has won as many as 3 Orange caps in the TATA IPL history. There is a big chance that he may win another one this season. The reason is the fact that he will be opening and most probably leading the Delhi Capitals in the absence of Rishabh Pant. Warner just loves India. He loves the pitches and loves the people. A people’s favorite, Warner bats at a strike rate of 153 in the powerplay overs and has an overall strike rate of 140 and an average of 42.3. With the support of Prithvi Shaw, if Warner wants time to settle down his nerves, he can ask Prithvi to go big in the beginning.

Shreyas Iyer can Win the Orange Cap in TATA IPL 2023:

Iyer will be the best batter of KKR.

Shreyas Iyer will have to bat number 3 or number 4 for the KKR team. The team doesn’t have a renowned opener so, it won’t be a surprise if Shreyas comes out to open as he did for the Delhi Daredevils in 2015. He will have to do the bulk scoring along with Nitish Rana and Venky. Shreyas doesn’t have a very underwhelming team, but the names are chosen on basis of promise and not performance. But responsibility has always bought out the best in this Mumbai lad. He has been the best batter for India in ODI cricket in 2022 and will carry the same form in the TATA IPL 2023.

Jos Butler will be playing for the Rajasthan Royals:

Jos Butler is dominating the SA20 league. If he carries the same form in the TATA IPL 2023, only the lord can save the domestic Indian bowlers. He is toying with the bowlers in South Africa and is scoring runs for fun. He was exceptional last season. To emulate that performance in TATA IPL 2023 will be a little difficult but one must never doubt the potential of “The Boss”. He will open for the Rajasthan Royals and will have ample overs to face and get the big runs. He scored 863 runs at an average of 57.53

Faf Du Plessis Will be Leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Faf Du Plessis has some fire left in him. He will lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the TATA IPL 2023 season. Du Plessis will open alongside Virat or Finn Allen. Both these batters have an attacking nature and will allow Faf to take his time. And once he gets in, each of us knows what he is capable of. He has dominated in the Bangladesh Premier League and that shows signs of his great form on turning tracks.
