Ireland made their tournament debut with a seven-run victory over Italy. They reduced Italy to 151/9 after setting a goal of 158 from their quota of 20 overs. Curtis Camper scored 61 runs in 39 balls for Ireland, while Harry Tector provided 41 runs.

They won by nine wickets against Denmark, with captain Paul Stirling and opening partner Andrew Balbirnie collecting quick fifties to chase down a modest score of 122. With three wickets each, Mark Adair and Barry McCarthy lead the bowling assault.
