India tour to Sri Lanka 2021: Sri Lankan cricketers tested covid negative in the recent RT-PCR test.
India tour to Sri Lanka 2021: All the Sri Lankan cricketers including the likes of Kusal Parera, Dushmantha Chameera and Dhananjaya de Silva, have shown encouraging signs ahead of the India vs Sri Lanka limited-overs series.
The reports show all the cricketers of the island nation have returned negative in their most recent RT-PCR covid tests, conducted by the Sri Lankan Cricket Board.
The white ball series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is has been pushed back after a couple of members of the host cricket board tested covid positive.
Batting coach Grant Flower along with data analyst GT Niroshan and one unidentified batsman had tested contracted the dreaded virus.
According to the revised schedule, the first match between India and Sri Lanka will get underway on 18th July.
“Normally, the moment we get any positive result we announce. There has been another round of RT-PCR tests conducted yesterday and the results were supposed to come today. We only get the results if there is any positive cases,” a source in SLC told PTI.
“Since we haven’t got any positive report, which we normally receive by mid day, it can be presumed that all players have tested negative,” he added.

Following all the negative reports, all the players who returned from the UK tour will come out of the isolation and begin training for the forthcoming fixtures.
The Sri Lankan source also confirmed that the contracted members are in the managed isolation as per the protocols.
