The IPL 2022 has bought several surprise packages for the Indian audience. From the initial few games, the teams have found several Indian stars. Players like Lalit Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Vaibhav Arora have been very impressive in the limited chances that they have got. Another batter who impressed us with an exceptional batting performance is Shubman Gill. Gill scored almost half of his team’s runs against the Delhi Capitals. This inning was also his best score in a T20 game. Here is an in-depth look at what Ravi Shastri had to say about this budding Superstar:

Shubman Gill is One of the Most Talented Players in the World:

“He is pure talent. That guy is one of the most talented players in this country and world cricket, to be honest.” These were words from the former team India coach Ravi Shastri. Ravi Shastri is one of the most knowledgeable persons in the game of cricket and has done almost every role in the Indian cricketing circuit. He has been working with Shubman Gill in the Indian Cricket Team camp since 2019.

“Once he gets going, he will score and he makes it look easy. He has got that punch, he’s got the time and he has got the power to clear the ground,” Shastri added. “He is just made for this format of the game. It’s just his shot selection, his rotation of the strike which he talked about himself. Very few dot balls today which took the pressure off him. And he’s the guy who’ll put the bad balls away,” he added.

When asked about how Shubman has been so dominant, Ravi answered by saying, “He is very good on the short ball, the short-arm jab we saw in this innings of his. And this will do his confidence a world of good”. Ravi Shastri has been recently added back to the IPL 2022 commentary panel of the Star TV Network. Fans have had a nostalgic experience after hearing Ravi Shastri’s voice in the commentary box.
