County Championship 2021: With a maiden fifer playing for Surrey against Somerset, India’s ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin sounded a warning bell for the English batters ahead of the India vs England five matches test series.

Ashwin scalped an impressive six wickets for 27 to help Surrey bundle, Somerset, for a mere 69 in the second innings.

The veteran spinner returned with unimpressive figures in the first innings, however, he turned the table when he came to bowl in the second innings of Somerset.

He bowled 58 overs in the entire match and returned with seven wickets by giving away 127 runs.

Surrey Cricket posted a video of the spinner which consists of all his six wickets in the second innings.

“Watch all six wickets for @ashwinravi99 at The Kia Oval this morning, as Somerset were bowled out for just 69,” wrote Surrey Cricket on a social media post.

The Indian off-spinner got exceptional support from the other end. Left-arm spinner Dan Moriarty picked up four wickets to wrap up Somerset’s innings.

Somerset plundered massive 429 runs in the first essay while they managed to score just 69 in the second.

In response to Somerset’s mammoth total, Surrey was bowled out for 240. Surrey has now been given a target of 258 runs to chase following the heroics of Ashwin and Moriarty.

R Ashwin got better of Tom Lammonby in the first innings while picked up the wickets of Steven Davies, Tom Lammonby, James Hildreth, George Bartlett, Roelof van der Merwe and Ben Green in the second essay.
