Pakistan Announces Squad for T20I series against Ireland and England, Babar Azam to lead the side, Haris Rauf made comeback: Pakistan is going to play a three-match T20I series against Ireland and then, they will be playing a four-match T20I series against England. Both series will be very important for the Pakistan National Cricket Team to prepare and test their bench strength before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Babar Azam will be leading Pakistan in both the bilateral series against Ireland and England.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announces the 18-member squad for the T20I series against Ireland and England. A significant development was the comeback of Haris Rauf and Hassan Ali in the team, both the Pacers have excellent records in T20I cricket, especially Haris Rauf, who is known for his wicket-taking ability and consistent bowling.
Overall, PCB reveals the main squad of Pakistan and it is expected that Pakistan’s squad for T20 World Cup 2024 will be from the below 18 players list depending upon their performances in the upcoming two important bilateral series.
Recently, Pakistan played a five-match T20I series against New Zealand with almost the same squad except few players but the series ended with a draw by 2-2. New Zealand was playing with a young side, only 2-3 players have played more than 10 matches in the International T20 cricket.
Pakistan’s Preparation for T20 World Cup 2024:
PCB has made some significant changes in the team after the failure in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 but it seems like a failure as Pakistan has lost almost every bilateral series after it. However, It will be interesting to see, How Babar Azam will lead Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
Moreover, Pakistan’s performance in the T20I series against Ireland and England will reflect the same in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The Comback of Haris Rauf will make Pakistan’s bowling department more lethal but the other pacers haven’t performed well in recent times.
Pakistan’s main issue will be the form of the key batters before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 as expect skipper Babar Azam and Saim Ayub, no other batters have played good cricket in recent times. However, Mohd. Rizwan had performed quite well before the New Zealand series but now, he is finding the way.
