ENG vs IND 2021: Young Delhi Capitals pacer Avesh Khan is likely to be excluded from India vs England five matches test series after sustaining a blow on his left thumb on Tuesday.
The pacer, on the first day of the three-day warm-up match between India and County Select XI, sustained a left thumb fracture due to which he has been kept out of the remaining action in the warm-up match.
Avesh Khan was playing for County Select XI as the team went short of their players. ECB reported that a couple of County players have been sent into mandatory isolation according to the protocols for coming in contact with the Covid positive individual.
A senior BCCI official informed that the speedster, who was picked as a stand-by player, could remain out of the game for a considerable amount of time due to his injury.

“Avesh is not likely to take any further part in the series leave alone this game. It’s a thumb fracture. He will not be bowling for at least a month and after that rehabilitation is likely to start. In another three days, the picture is supposed to get clearer,” the BCCI source said.
The medical team of BCCI is constantly monitoring him and stated that Avesh Khan will not take part in day 2 and day 3 of the warm-up match.
“Fast bowler Avesh Khan remains under the observation of the Medical Team. He will not be taking any further part on Day 2 and Day 3 of the warm-up game.”
Khan suffered the blow during the penultimate delivery of his 10th over when he tried to stop the straight shot from Hanuma Vihari on a full-length ball with his left hand while in momentum.
The pacer required immediate medical assistance and went off the ground leaving his over incomplete.
