WPL AUCTION 2023(Source_Twitter) WPL 2023: Amidst the craze of the Indian Premier League , the most talked-about T20 league of the cricket world, now a similar thrill is going to prevail in women’s cricket as well. After the men’s T20 league played under the banner of BCCI, now just before the first season of the women’s T20 league, the bidding of players took place, in which a fierce battle was seen. 5 franchises entered the auction area and they tried to pick the best team with all their efforts to make their team strong and balanced. The first auction of the Women’s Premier League also witnessed the same excitement as the IPL auction.
In the auction that started in Mumbai on Saturday afternoon, 5 franchises included in this tournament landed on the table. Owners of Mumbai Indians , Royal Challengers Bangalore , UP Warriors, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants selected players under thorough planning. Who selected 87 players out of a total of 409 players and strengthened their respective sides. While some big names remained unsold, some young faces surprised.

WPL 2023 Broadcasting Rights Viacom18 had acquired the global media rights for TV and digital broadcast for the inaugural Women’s Premier League under a five-year contract starting 2023 for an amount of Rs 951 crore.
