Jasprit Bumrah plays as a right-arm fast bowler in Gujarat. Having consistently performed well in domestic cricket, Gujarat is the second-highest wicket-taker since his Ranji Trophy debut and continues to top the bowling order. Bumrah has emerged as India’s No. 1 bowler in all formats.
From white-ball cricket to red-ball, his attack has been natural. Jasprit grabbed everyone’s attention with his action and bowling skills. And ended the search for a death-over bowler in the Indian team. Jasprit Bumrah made his Test debut against South Africa at Newland on 5 January 2018.
He made his One Day International (ODI) debut in Australia on 23 January 2016 at the Sydney Cricket Ground and also made his T20I debut against Australia at the Adelaide Oval Stadium on 26 January 2016. Now he is the first Asian bowler to take five wickets in South Africa, England, and Australia.
He has now been promoted to the post of vice-captain of India’s Test team. He set a new record in Test matches by scoring 35 runs in an over off Stuart Broad at Edgbaston in July 2022.
In IPL
Jasprit Bumrah played 2 matches for Mumbai Indians in Pepsi IPL 2013, but Mumbai Indians retained him for Pepsi IPL 2014 season. And along with Mumbai Indians teammate Lasith Malinga, Bumrah learned to use yorkers to hit blockholes and Mumbai Indians got the biggest gift in the IPL.
