GT vs MI Bumrah injury update

Mumbai Indians eagerly wait for the return of their star speedster Jasprit Bumrah, as the star pacer also missed the Champions Trophy for India.

Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2025 season backed the return of their most successful IPL coach, Mahela Jayawardene under whom they went on to win 3 IPL trophies from 2017 to 2021. After Mumbai’s humiliating performance in IPL 2021, Jayawardene parted ways with MI in IPL and was replaced by South African veteran Mark Boucher.

Since then, Jayawardene was still a part of the MI franchise with their other teams in different parts of the world, like the SA20 or the MLC. He is back in the IPL this season as the head coach of the season for Mumbai Indians.

The head coach has given a recent update on their star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah’s probable return from injury. He confirmed that other than Bumrah, all other players are fit and good enough to take to the field in Ahmedabad.

“Everyone is available except for Bumrah. Like I said in my last interview as well, it’s on a daily basis that he’s going through his program. “So far, everything seems okay. But there were no timelines given by NCA, so we’ll wait on that,” said Jayawardene.

Hardik Pandya returns for Mumbai Indians

Owing to some misconduct in the last game of the previous IPL season, Pandya had to undergo a suspension in the opening fixture for Mumbai Indians. In his absence, Suryakumar Yadav, the current Indian T20I skipper, led the Mumbai Indians against the Chennai Super Kings.

After the end of his ban, Hardik Pandya will return as the MI skipper and begin his season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
