PBKS vs LSG: LSG is the second franchise that made its debut last year and attained heavy success, while on the other hand, the Kings have a lineage of over 15 years, but despite being one of the best competitors, they could never claim their hold on the title.

Though PBKS are not one of the teams that hold a much decent streak against several opponents, they share a competitive spirit against the Lucknow Super Giants after the Kings had a crushing defeat in the only match they played against LSG.

PBKS vs LSG: Head to Head

The Punjab Kings have been keeping up with their legacy for an enlisted period of around 15 years and are featured in the 16th edition of the league. However, LSG made their debut in 2022 and has already left an impact on IPL 2022 and is continuing with it in 2023.

Both teams have only encountered each other once in the IPL, with LSG winning the only match. Both innings of the encounter were led by their bowlers, as KG and Rahul Chahar restricted the Super Giants to a low total of nearly 150, but in response to that, LSG bowlers Mohsin and Krunal led the chase and helped them register a win.

PBKS vs LSG: Memorable matches

We take a look at a brief note of the last encounter between these 2 franchises, a match completely dominated by bowlers and a tough time for even the most informed batters.

  • The first encounter between these 2 franchises was on the 29th of April 2022, when LSG batters tumbled throughout their batting innings before putting on a submissive total of 153, with some bit of a good show by the Protea T20 veteran Quinton De Kock and sweet little cameos from the LSG batters coming down the order, while Rabada picking up 4 scalps and in return, they restricted PBKS to a total 20 runs short of the target, jointly led by quicky Mohsin Khan and all-rounder Krunal, supported by Chameera and Bishnoi.

Though it was De Kock who posted the batting total and Mohsin who led the wickets tally, it was Krunal who, due to his all-round performance, was chosen as the Man of the Match. It was he who picked crucial wickets and dismantled the backbone of the PBKS middle order.
