IPL 2025 RR vs PBKS Match Highlights: Punjab Kings end winning by 10-runs in a mammoth chase; PBKS consolidate their hold onto top 4
RR vs PBKS Highlights

IPL 2025 RR vs PBKS Match Highlights: The Rajasthan Royals played their 13th match of the season and are only chasing a dead rubber, but could have been a threat to their opposition teams since they only have something left to prove to themselves. The Punjab Kings, on the other hand, have been in fine form this season and have looked to bounce back strongly after their previous match was called off due to some war-like threatening situations at Dharamshala.

Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer is eyeing his third IPL playoffs appearance with a third franchise as a captain, which would be a record in itself, as no other great skipper in the IPL has done this before. Also, all their players are back in the hut, and even Ponting looks to the duo alongside Iyer to give PBKS a redemption after they did it for the Capitals back in 2019-2020.

IPL 2025 RR vs PBKS Match Highlights: Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh – This time middle-order uncapped Indian duo shines for PBKS

Wahdera shows his calibre when PBKS needs him the most

Uncapped players and Punjab Kings have been a saga of romance in this edition of the IPL, as the likes of openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya have outclassed many great opening pairs to be the second most successful opening pair of the season. The batters have gathered nearly 800 runs between them; however, this time around, the Rajasthan bowlers bounced back with early dismissals of the PBKS top order.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer built on a good partnership alongside Nehal Wadhera; however, it was Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh who, for the 5th wicket, gathered a large amount of runs, as Wadhera got to his highest individual IPL total and third fifty of the season, with 70 off just 37 balls. Shashank Singh batted till the end alongside Azmatullah Omarzai and contributed to the death overs, a perfect finish by both batters, just something that PBKS needed. The two scored 60 off the last 4 overs, taking Punjab Kings to a huge 219 in the 20 overs.

Jaiswal has been the very best at the top for the Royals

Another mind-boggling opener pair was found late into this season: Yashasvi Jaiswal and young Vaibhav Suryavanshi for the Rajasthan Royals. The two once again gave the most unexpected momentum to the Royals’ innings, giving them an 89-run powerplay start, where young Suryavanshi got out having scored 40 off just 15 balls, while Jaiswal stood tall until the end of the powerplay and went after scoring 50 off just 25 balls.

However, after the duo got out, skipper Samson, Parag, and Hetmyer didn’t get going, and despite a great innings from Dhruv Jurel, the wicketkeeper-batter for Royals, Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen’s quality bowling at the death, alongside wicket-takers Harpreet Brar and Azmatullah Omarzai, PBKS leapt to 17 points under stand-in skipper Shashank Singh on the field.
