IPL 2024 Points Table: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 47 runs at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in match no. 62 of TATA IPL 2024. After winning the match, RCB got closer in the race of IPL 2024 Playoffs however their last match of the league stages will be against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. It is going to be interesting to watch the match between RCB and CSK as the winning team will qualify for the IPL 2024 Playoffs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) performed well against DC but lots of the catches were dropped by Delhi Capitals fielders which led RCB to have a good total on the scoreboard. DC is now almost out of the Playoffs race as they have played 13 matches so far and have a total of 12 points with a poor net run rate of -0.482.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a decent start in the first inning as Virat Kohli and Will Jacks played quite aggressive cricket and scored a couple of runs in the powerplay. However, this time, Virat Kohli failed to convert the inning into a big one and got out by scoring 27 runs in 13 balls. But, the real storm was yet to come as Rajat Patidar and Will Jacks made an 88-run partnership for the third wicket at a good strike rate.
Rajat Patidar scored 52 runs in 32 balls with three fours and sixes each whereas Will Jacks scored 41 runs in 29 balls with three fours and two sixes. Later on, Cameron Green played an impactful inning of 32 runs in the death overs and led RCB to a good total of 187 runs in 20 overs.
From the Delhi Capitals bowling department, Khaleel Ahmed and Rasikh Salam took two wickets each whereas Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar and Ishant Sharma got one wicket only. DC bowlers bowled well but they didn’t get support from the fielders as they dropped 6 catches in this match.
While Chasing the Target, Delhi Capitals had a poor start as they lost four wickets in the powerplay. However, Shai Hope and Axar Patel made a decent partnership of 56 for the fifth wicket, Shai Hope got out by scoring 29 runs in 23 balls whereas Axar Patel scored 57 runs in 39 balls. Except for these two batters no other batters performed well in this match therefore RCB comfortably won the match by 47 runs.
From the Royals Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bowling department, Yash Dayal and Lockie Ferguson took three and two wickets, respectively whereas Cameron Green, Mohd. Siraj and Swapnil Singh took one wicket each.

After the RCB vs DC match, the fight for the 3rd and 4th positions in the IPL 2024 Points Table got intense however RCB and CSK have their fate in their own hands. Both the teams will be playing against each other on May 18 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and most importantly, the winning team will get a ticket for the IPL 2024 Playoffs.
As of now, Chennai Super Kings is present in third position in the latest IPL 2024 Points Table with 14 points and have a good net run rate of +0.528. However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jumps to the fifth position in the IPL 2024 Points Table with twelve points and A NRR of +0.387.
