In the 68th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 27 runs at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and most interestingly the match was played at RCB’s home ground in Bengaluru. CSK missed the excellent opportunity to get the ticket for the IPL 2024 Playoffs but they have played phenomenal cricket in this tournament, especially in the first half.
Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are now officially qualified for the IPL 2024 Playoffs. However, Rajasthan Royals (RR) are yet to play their last league stage match of TATA IPL 2024 and with this, they can retain the second spot if and only if they were able to win the game whereas SRH lost their last match hence RR occupy the second position in the IPL 2024 Points Table.
IPL 2024 Playoffs are scheduled to start from May 21 but the position of all the top 4 teams in the IPL 2024 Points Table isn’t clear yet therefore who will play against whom in the playoffs will be decided after the league stage. But, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have solidified their spot in the Qualifier 1 as they have 19 points with an excellent NRR of +1.428.

RCB vs CSK Match Highlights:
Royal Challengers Bengaluru batted first and they played phenomenal cricket against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and made a massive 218 runs on the scoreboard in 20 overs. Skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli played decent innings of 54 and 47 runs, respectively.
However, In the middle overs, Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green took the charge as they scored 41(23) and 38(17), respectively therefore leading RCB to a good target. CSK bowler Shardul Thakur took two wickets whereas Tushar Deshpande and Mitchell Santner took one wicket each.
However, Chennai Super Kings had a bad start as their skipper got out at golden duck whereas Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra had a decent partnership and led CSK back on track. But, Rachin Ravindra scored 61 runs in 37 balls and Ajinkya Rahane scored 33 runs in 22 balls.
CSK batters seemed very confused and pressurized therefore they weren’t able to connect the ball properly which led them to lose their wicket. In the end, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja tried to finish the game but they too failed therefore RCB won the match by 27 runs.
