IPL 2024: CSK’s Star Player Ben Stokes Pulls out of IPL 2024 due to the Workload and fitness: The English All-Rounder Ben Stokes, will not be available in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). This is a huge blow for Chennai Super Kings as they bought him for 16.25 overs, and he didn’t perform well for his franchise in the IPL 2023.
Ben Stokes took this decision as England will play five test matches against India and then ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024 will be held after the IPL 2024. In the past few years, Ben Stokes has struggled a lot due to injuries that’s why he wants himself to be available for the tournament.
Ben Stokes didn’t play well in the starting few games of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, but in the last few games, he played good cricket for his team, which led them to win the crucial matches and saved their position in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled to be played in Pakistan.
Ben Stokes came out from the ODI retirement to play for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, but his team played poor cricket in the tournament and failed to qualify for the World Cup 2023 Semi-Finals.
Ben Stokes was bought for 16.25 overs in last year’s IPL Auction:
The Chennai Super Kings bought Ben Stokes for 16.25 crore in the IPL 2023 Auction, but he was injured around the whole season and was able to play only a few games, but he didn’t perform well in all those matches.
Ben Stokes’ unavailability will not impact CSK in the IPL 2024, as they already have quality all-rounders like Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja in their team. Both the players have played exceptional cricket in IPL 2023, which helped CSK to win the title as well.
All the franchises have a deadline of November 26 to release and retail players in the IPL 2024. The Trading window is still on and teams can trade players from other franchises. As of now, there are only a few players traded and released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 Auction.
