IPL 2023: The subcontinental pitches have always been of great help to the spinners. Finger spinners are not great turners of the ball though they bring in more variation as compared to wrist spinners. However, modern-day cricket mostly has finger spinners nowadays with only a handful of Wrist spinners, and it is they who mostly switch the course of the game.

Let’s see who can be the probable top 5 spinners, who can weave their magic in IPL 2023

5. Kuldeep Yadav

The Indian Slow-left arm Chinaman bowler, is one of a kind with very few such bowlers in cricket history. Kuldeep was a mystery bowler in the early days of his career and replaced Indian veteran Ashwin to feature for India with Dhoni behind the wickets, however, after several decent performances in the initial years his form dropped and he was left out of the national side.

The chinaman came back with strong performances in the previous IPL and has not looked back since then. Playing for India across all 3 formats he has made complete use of playing conditions and emerged as their most successful spinner. He is also expected to fire this IPL too in Delhi shirts as he would be their prime hope for picking wickets.

4. Yuzvendra Chahal

Another Indian bowler who has been the prime pick for the Men in Blue, especially in the T20 format and has picked many wickets over the years. In the IPL, Chahal has been the star performer for RCB for all the years he played in Red colors.

Chahal has always been in the purple cap race picking multiple wickets every year in the IPL and was even the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2023 playing for the Rajasthan Royals. Though he has not shown his prominence this year as of yet but is expected to revive his form in Indian pitches.

3. Wanindu Hasaranga

The Lankan spinner is another ace choice in the IPL. Though Hasaranga didn’t play much cricket on Indian pitches, he is still well-adapted to bowling in Indian conditions. Hasaranga is known for varying his lengths and flighting deliveries so that he can adjust to conditions according to field dimensions.

Hasaranga proved to be 2nd highest wicket-taker in his debut IPL and justified his bucks in the auction. Hasaranga has even been the architect in Sri Lanka’s Asia Cup victory and their World Cup qualifications, hence picking his spot in the ICC T20i Men’s Team of the year.

2. Rashid Khan

The ace spinner from Afghanistan has made the shorter format look like his own form of the game. Rashid plays T20 all over the world and has startled cricketing fans with his bowling masterclass. Rashid has performed exceptionally in the IPL since he marked his debut for the Sunrisers.

Going to the Gujarat Titans for a huge price of 15 Crores proves the importance of his presence in any T20 side. Previously named in the ICC T20i team of the year, Rashid has done wonders with the ball. Though currently, he is not going through a very good patch, he can prove to be efficient any day.

1. Ravi Bishnoi

Another Indian spinner, Bishnoi is a young and prolific spinner who has stunned many great batters in the IPL. Making his debut for the PBKS, he later moved to the LSG and his regular brilliance with the ball caused Indian selectors to mark him over other players for Asia Cup 2022. Bishnoi was a star performer for LSG and his franchise would hope for him to fire once again in the IPL, and to be the captain’s most reliable aid for wickets.
