India team at Oval
The Indians celebrated wildly after claiming a victory at the Oval after 51 Years.

After 51 years India have won a test match at the Kennington Oval. India on Monday, won the 4th Test Match of their series against England. The fiasco of Day 5 unfolded at the Kennington Oval and the audience was blessed with a splendid performance from all the Indian bowlers. The Oval was set for a good day of cricket after the English openers played out the new ball very well on Sunday evening. It was a packed house in the morning that anticipated either a historic chase or a historic game in general. Umesh Yadav, J Boom, SRJ, and Shardul Thakur, everyone made significant contributions with the ball to bring home this victory.

1st Session: –

The English Openers looked well set from their overnight batting score. Though they were chasing a mighty 367 runs on a rough day 5 wicket, the openers played well. Rory Burns and Hameed effectively had set up a good foundation for the chase. In the morning too, the duo made the Indians toil hard. But it was Shardul Thakur who came to the Indias’ rescue. “Lord Shardul” as he is called by the “Meme Community” produced a faint edge of Rory Burns bat which went through to the keeper Rishabh. The score at that time was 100-1. Next in was Dawid Malan. Dawid looked well settled but there were a few miscommunications while on field. Well before Malan get in he got run out by Mayank. This concluded India’s session on a positive note but the English Skipper Root was still on the field.

2nd Session: –

Jadeja and Bumrah turned the game in India’s favor in the second session on Monday!

The second session turned the tide for the Indians. They dominated this entire session claiming a total of six English batsmen. First to go to the pavilion was Haseeb Hameed the well set opener. Jadeja bowled him a peach of a delivery that hit the stumps. The scorecard at that moment showed 141-3. Next in was Ollie Pope who couldn’t stand Bumrah’s pace. Bumrah rattled Ollie’s as well as Johnny Bairstow’s stumps. Johnny’s delivery was a pitcure-perfect yorker. Moeen Ali tried to resist but it was also ended by Jadeja. It was a good catch by SKY at FSL. Next in to bat was Chris Woakes. Just at the stroke of tea, Lord Shardul struck again. He got rid of the ever lasting Joe Root! Joe nicked Shardul’s delivery back on to his stumps. When Joe Root went back England was railing at 182-7.

3rd Session: –

With 3 wickets in hand and the tail totally exposed, it was just a matter of time now. Umesh Yadav got rid of Woakes as it was a sharp catch by KL Rahul at square leg. Next to go back was Craig Overton. Umesh bowled a “jaffa” that took off from the turf, went and hit Overton’s elbow before dismantling the stumps. Ollie Robinson and Jimmy Anderson was the last standing pair. Robinson cracked two boundaries before Anderson unwillingly nicked one through to Rishabh Pant. India won the game by 157 Runs. Rohit Sharma was adjudged man of the match!
