IND vs WI 2023: India and West Indies created a record after the T20I series, West Indies won the Series by 3-2: On 13 July 2023, India and West Indies played the last match of a five-match T20I series. West Indies won the match by eight wickets and won the series by 3-2.

West Indies team created multiple records after defeating Indian Team in the T20I series at home. West Indies won the first, second, and fifth T20I match against India, while India won the third and fourth T20I match.

India lost a series after 25 months in the T20 format. India lost the first-ever T20I series in the West Indies. 

In the absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Mohd. Siraj, Team India lost the series. Inexperienced Team India lost the series against the Strong side of the West Indies.

This series is crucial for Team India because West Indies and USA will host the T20 World Cup 2024 next year. Losing the T20I series in the West Indies is not a good sign for India.

From 18 August 2023, India and Ireland will play the T20I series in Ireland. Jasprit Bumrah is going to make his return to International cricket after two years.

West Indies won a series against India after 17 long years. In 2006, India and West Indies played their first T20I series. India and West Indies played 29 matches in T20I cricket, in which India won 19 matches while West Indies won 10 matches.

India Faces Unprecedented Records After T20I Series Loss to West Indies:

  • Historic Series Loss: India lost their first-ever Five Match T20I series after the defeat against West Indies.

  • Series of First: For the first time, India lost three matches in a series in the T20 International cricket.

  • Setting the Record at 5: For the first time, India lost a five-match T20I series.

  • A 25-Month Setback: India didn’t lost any series in the last 25 months in T20 cricket but now, the winning steak ended. 

  • Breaking the Streak: India’s 13-match winning streak in T20 series came to an end with their loss to West Indies.
