IND vs ENG: The exciting Test series between India and England was played at major venues in India and now the last and fifth match will be played at the Dharamshala ground.
KL Rahul would not play in the fifth match; his availability for the final Test rested on his level of fitness. In order to continue managing his injuries, the medical staff of the BCCI is keeping a careful eye on him and working with specialists in London.
Rahul played the first Test of the series in Hyderabad, where he scored 86 runs off 123 balls in the first innings, however, he was ruled out before the second Test due to a quadriceps injury.

Meanwhile, India vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the fourth Test, will rejoin the team in Dharamsala. Bumrah was rested to manage his workload ahead of the IPL and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup later in June this year.
The fast bowler has taken 17 wickets at an average of 13.64 in three matches in the series; in the second Test in Visakhapatnam, he took nine wickets and was named player of the match.
Washington Sundar has been left out of the squad and will play for his home state Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy semi-final against Mumbai. Sundar did not participate in any match of the series.
Regarding Mohammed Shami’s injury, the BCCI provided more details. Shami’s operation on February 26 to address his right heel issue was successful, and he will shortly report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to start his recovery.
When India met Australia in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final in November 2023, Shami made his last appearance in an international match.
After the victory in Ranchi, India registered three consecutive wins and took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. The hosts are currently second in the ICC World Test Championship standings with a points percentage of 64.58, while England are placed eighth with a points percentage of 19.44.
