INDIA NEXT CAPTAIN
IND vs ENG

IND vs ENG: India Star Batsman Ruled out of third test against England due to injury: Big blow for India, middle-order batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the third Test against England in Rajkot. Rahul, who played the first Test, could not play the second Test due to a quadriceps injury.

KL Rahul, whose availability for the remaining three Test matches was dependent on fitness, but he could not recover from his injury, has been ruled out of the third Test against England in Rajkot.

He will continue his recovery process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to be fully fit for the upcoming domestic and international tournaments.

The men’s selection committee has announced the name of Devdutt Padikkal as the replacement for KL Rahul for the third Test, starting on February 15, 2024.

While he was named in the squad for the final three Tests, his selection, like that of Ravindra Jadeja, was subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI medical team.

The BCCI confirmed in its release that Rahul “has reached 90% match fitness and will continue his recovery process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to be fully match-fit for the fourth and fifth Tests.” Karnataka batsman Devdutt Padikkal has been named as KL Rahul’s replacement.

India have already been affected in the batting department by the absence of key players. While Virat Kohli is absent due to personal reasons, Shreyas Iyer has been ignored from the team for the last three Test matches. Padikkal has been in good form for India and Karnataka and could potentially make his debut in the series.
