Harry Brook was expected to play for England in the first test match against India in Hyderabad but now, he unexpectedly returned home and the reason was not disclosed yet by the England Cricket Board (ECB). As per the media reports, He went to England just a few days before the crucial five-match test series due to personal reasons.
However, it is not yet clear that Harry Brook will miss the whole series but he is most likely to not play a single test game. Brook has performed phenomenally for England in test cricket in the middle order with the bat and his absence will impact the batting performance of England in this five-match test series against India.
IND vs ENG 2024, Dan Lawrence set to replace Harry Brook in the test series against India:
England Cricket Board (ECB) announced Dan Lawrence as replacement of Harry Brook for the five-, match test series against India, which is scheduled to start from January 25, 2024, at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Dan Lawrence has lots of experience in International Cricket, especially in test cricket and Lawrence is known for his class batting whereas he is also a right-arm off-spin bowler.
The Addition of Dan Lawrence to the squad is an excellent move by the ECB as he will give more bowling and batting depth to the team. It is expected that he might get a chance to start a few games but still, there is no official confirmation from England’s Team Management.
Ben Stokes will be leading the England Men’s Cricket Team in the five-match test series against India and it will be exciting to watch whether they will defeat Indian Team on their home soil after 2012. However, It is going to be very hard for the English players to dominate in the Indian conditions as they lost a couple of series in the past few years in India.
