IND vs ENG 2024: A Huge Setback for India, Virat Kohli Set to Miss First Two Test Matches against England: As the five-match Test series between India and England is coming nearer, big news came from the Indian side, The Chase Master Virat Kohli will not available for the starting two test games due to the undisclosed personal reasons. India and England are going to play the five-match test from January 25 in Hyderabad, the series will be very crucial for both the teams.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the unavailability of Virat Kohli in the first two test matches against England, which will be played in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, respectively. The absence of Virat Kohli’s Absence in this crucial five-match test series will definitely impact India’s performance hence it is very important for the Skipper Rohit Sharma and Team Management to fill the gap.
Virat Kohli has a tremendous record against England especially in Indian conditions. However, Still Indian Batting line-up is much stronger than England and Skipper Rohit Sharma is in good form which will give young Indian players confidence to play better cricket. Still, there are lots of players to occupy the position of Virat Kohli but it is expected that he will be replaced by an experienced player for the first two test matches against England.
The Chance of Cheteswar Pujara is very high to replace Virat Kohli for the first two test games however, Sarfaraz Khan and Rajat Patidar are also in line to replace Kohli but Indian Team Management is likely to go with experienced players in this crucial test series.
Currently, the Indian Team is present in second position in the latest ICC World Test Championship 2023-2025 Points Table with a PCT of 54.16% and 26 points. Indian has played only four matches sin this ICC WTC 2023-25 Cycle whereas England has played five games. England is in seventh position in the ICC WTC Points Table with a PCT of 15.00% and 9 points.
