IND vs AUS: India has performed inconsistently in the longest format of the game; however, while playing in Australia, many Indian batters have not been able to perform consistently.

Even the likes of Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been inconsistent, while the likes of new inclusion Nitish Kumar Reddy, who mostly come to bat down the order, have shown reliability in the Indian batting order.

The first test marked the collapse of Indian batters and marked NK Reddy’s brilliance in the debut inning at Perth. However, when the Indian innings collapsed in both innings of the second test, Nitish Kumar Reddy, despite all odds and playing alongside the lower order, scored invaluable runs for the Indian side.

Some former players have indicated that Nitish Reddy, despite his fine form, should be dropped from the playing XI in order to feature players who hold further experience in the longest format of the game.

Though India dropped Washington Sundar to bring Ravi Ashwin into the 11, he could not be of much help at Adelaide despite his stunning record with the pink ball.

This has been a constant surprise to every possible Indian fan that Ravindra Jadeja has been dropped from the India Test 11. Jadeja has had commendable success with both bat and ball in the format and is yet ranked the best all-rounder in tests by the ICC.

Jadeja was not named in either of the two tests, while Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy have been identified as the new all-rounders. The Gambhir era marked the eradication of Jadeja from both the ODIs and test squads.

If Nitish Kumar Reddy is dropped from the Indian side, then no player other than Ravindra Jadeja would be ideal to be brought into the Indian side, though Sundar has also been seen already in the nets at the Gabba.
