IND vs AUS: The SCG test might be a do-or-die test from India’s point of view, but considering Australia, the home side with an impeccable record at the Sydney Cricket Ground, they may look to capitalize on their gained lead and look forward to regaining their hold over the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

In addition to winning the trophy, concluding the SCG test with a victory will significantly boost their confidence for the first test of the year and provide a significant advantage in the race to defend their WTC title.

Australia made a change in the MCG test, as they brought in Sam Konstas in place of Nathan McSweeney, the opener, and this change made a great rise for Australia.

Similarly, their other loose scope has been all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, as Cameron Green, the usual no. 6 for Australia, has been ruled out for 6 months owing to his back surgery. A new all-rounder from the Aussie side has finally replaced Marsh.

Australia picked Webster into the 11 ever since the Gabba test; however, the all-rounder is about to make his debut at the SCG.

Earlier, during the proceedings of the Boxing Day test at the MCG, Australian legend Steve Waugh urged the Aussie selectors to bring in Webster into the playing 11 as the ideal replacement for Mitchell Marsh.

Beau Webster, as said by Steve Waugh, is Australia’s own Andrew Symonds. Just like the former Aussie all-rounder, Webster is unique in bowling both seam and off-spin. The batter down the order has been occasionally great with the bat, while he has often had a greater impact as well as work rate with the ball as compared to Mitchell Marsh.

Australia’s playing 11 for the SCG Test: Sam Konstas, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Beau Webster, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins [C], Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Scott Boland.
