ICC World Cup 2023 Points Table, India Surpasses Pakistan Updated After India vs Afghanistan match | ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Standing: India has played a dominating cricket in their second match of World Cup 2023 against Afghanistan. Currently, Team India stands at the second spot in the ODI World Cup 2023 Points Table.

India defeated Afghanistan by eight wickets and easily chased the target of 273 runs in just 35 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma played a match-winning knock of 131 runs in 84 balls.

After Winning the match against Afghanistan, Team India surpassed Pakistan and occupied the second position with four points and a net run rate of +1.500.

Pakistan slips to the third spot as they also won two matches and have four points, but the net run rate is +0.927, which is slightly lower than Team India.

Afghanistan batted first, and they scored 272 runs on the scoreboard with a loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi and Azmatullah Omarzai played a responsible innings and scored 80 and 62 runs, respectively.

From the Indian Side, Jasprit Bumrah bowled well on the flat batting surface and took four wickets at an economy rate of 3.90 in his ten overs spell. Hardkip Pandya took two wickets in his seven-over spell.

Team India started a blasting chase from the starting overs in the second inning. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kisan made a massive 156-run partnership for the first wicket. Rohit Sharma scored 131 runs, whereas Ishan Kishan scored 47 runs. 

Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer finished the match, and India won their second game of the World Cup 2023. Virat and Shreyas scored 55 and 25 runs, respectively.
