IND vs NZ: The red-ball format has been at its all-time high, as action has been at its best-breaking high, from South Africa winning their first test in Asia after a huge span of 15 years to the Kiwi side winning a test in India after a 36-year-long jinx.

While for some they have not had the best seasons, with India ending their 12-year-long winning streak under home conditions. Pakistan, on the other hand, won their first-ever home series after a span of 3 years.

Despite India losing their series to New Zealand, the youngster and most dominating batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, also played a very dominating game in the second innings of the Pune test. Though Joe Root and Kane Williamson both retain their positions, they have now been joined by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who earned a career-high ranking of no.3 surpassing the likes of England’s Harry Brook.


While Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, owing to his lack of form, does not feature even in the top 20 in the rankings, Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill have also received immense setbacks with major drops in career rankings.

Pakistan’s third test centurion, Saud Shakeel, saw a huge leap in the ICC rankings, as Shakeel was raised by 20 rankings, while also Ravindra marked a leap over 8 ICC ranks to be positioned at No. 10 owing to his stunningness against India.

Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who was recently placed at the top of ICC test rankings following his form against Bangladesh, is now owing to Rabada’s 9 wickets against Bangladesh in the first test at Dhaka.


With Bumrah, even the two expert spinners Ashwin and Jadeja have seen a considerable drop in rankings, while one of the Pakistani spin duos, Noman Ali, has also made a significant rise in the rankings, achieving a career-highest 9th overall ranking.
