ICC CWC Qualifiers 2023 Super Six Points Table [July 7] Updated After SL vs WI ODI 2023 | ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifiers: On July 7, Sri Lanka defeated West Indies by eight Wickets at Harare Sports Club, Harare, and the Player of the match was Pathum Nissanka.

In Match No. 33 of the Super Six round, the two-time World Champion West Indies again showed a decent performance and lost the last match of the super six round.

In the first inning, West Indies came to bat and continued their poor performance as they lost three wickets in the Powerplay, but Keacy Carthy played a crucial inning of 87 runs in 96 balls.

He made small partnerships with other batters and led his team to a decent score of 243 runs. Romario Shepherd and Kevin Sinclair have contributed with 26 and 25 runs, respectively. West Indies got all out in 48.1 overs.

From Sri Lankan Side, The leading wicket-taker of this tournament, Wanindu Hasaranga, wasn’t playing this match, but Maheesh Theekshana bowled a fantastic spell and took four wickets and gave only 34 runs in 10 overs, whereas Dushan Hemantha took two wickets.

In the Second Inning, Sri Lanka came to chase the target, and they started well as they made 190 runs partnership for the 1st wicket. Both the openers showed excellent intent; Pathum Nissanka and Dismuth Karunaratne scored 104 and 83 runs, respectively.

Kusal Mendis finished the match, and Sri Lanka won by eight wickets. From West Indies side, Kevin Sinclair and Akeal Hosein took one wicket each. Sri Lanka has qualified for the World Cup 2023, whereas West Indies got eliminated from the tournament.
