Dwayne Bravo is a player who is the definition of T20 Cricket. He is charismatic, quick, great to watch, and an absolute entertainer. Dwayne Bravo has been in the international cricket circuit for a very long time. He made his international debut back in 2004 and since then it has been a hell of a ride. As his teammates call him, Champion Bravo is one of the most interesting characters to hang around with. DJ Bravo is also a musician, a dancer, a businessman, and most importantly an amazing human being. He is the only bowler to take 500+ T20 Wickets. Here is a look at the career of this legend: –

Dwayne Bravo Early Life: –

Dwayne John Bravo or DJ Bravo as he is known was born on 7^th October 1983 in Santa Cruz in the remote islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Bravo was the only son of John Bravo and Joycelene Bravo. He had 4 sisters. Dwayne Bravo also has a half-brother named Darren Bravo. Darren is also a well-established cricketer. DJ Bravo has completed his formal education from Aranguez Junior Secondary School and Tranquility Government Secondary School in Trinidad and Tobago itself.

Dwayne Bravo Family: –

Dwayne Bravo’s father is John Bravo and his mother is Joycelene Bravo as mentioned earlier. He has 4 sisters and 1 half-brother Darren Bravo. The family is believers in the Christian Faith. Dwayne Bravo is currently unmarried and I dating Rejina Ramjit. The two have two kids together as well. DJ Junior and Dwayne are the two lovely kids of Dwayne Bravo.

Dwayne Bravo Early Career: –

Dwayne Bravo first came into the first-class cricketing circuit at the age of 19 in 2002. He opened the batting in the domestic team for Trinidad and Tobago and played two innings of 15 and 16 runs. He was dismissed cheaply. A month later, Dwayne Bravo scored a hundred at first-class level and got drafted to the West Indies A squad for the tour of England. His all-rounder abilities were visible when he picked 6 wickets for 11 runs in a game at the domestic level in 2003.

Dwayne Bravo Professional Career 2003 to 2008: –

Dwayne Bravo is an absolute champion player. He is a fighter and has helped the West Indies fight through several tough situations. Dwayne Bravo has been saving the West Indies from collapses since 2003. When the West Indies toured England in 2004/2005, Dwayne Bravo impressed with both bat and ball. In his test debut, he scored 10 and 44 runs. He also picked three wickets in the test. In his debut series, he picked a total of 16 wickets and 220 runs.

One can never forget the banter that Dwayne Bravo had on the field with Andrew Flintoff. Andrew Flintoff said to Bravo, “Wait for 3 to 4 years and let’s see where you will be. You most certainly won’t be in the cricketing circuit. I bet” And look what Dwayne Bravo did to this call out of Freddy Flintoff. Dwayne Bravo performed and shut the mouth of many such critics. In 2005 when West Indies toured the Proteas, Dwayne Bravo scored his debut 100. He scored a well-fought 107. He was also trapped in a racially-based controversy between him and Graeme Smith. Dwayne Bravo was also one of the first 15 players from the West Indies to play the T20 World Cup in 2007. His first season of IPL began with representation for the Mumbai Indians.

Dwayne Bravo Professional Career 2009 to 2021: –

Dwayne Bravo starred in the IPL for Mumbai Indians. It was at this very platform that the community realized that a T20 star was born. In the period from 2009 to 2021, Dwayne Bravo played 603 T20 Matches all over the globe. Bravo went on to pick 631 wickets and scored 7000+ runs in franchise cricket and international T20s. Bravo from 2011 became a staple in the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Seeing his performance in 2010 for the Mumbai Indians in the 2010 Champions League the men in yellow picked Dwayne in 2011 in the Mega Auction.

Dwayne Bravo and Chennai Super Kings: –

Dwayne Bravo further became a permanent member of this franchise, making the Chennai fans go crazy. One can never forget his slower balls and well-disguised cutters. He is too good a player to be kept outside of any team, even today. He helped Chennai Super Kings win the IPL in 2011, 2018, and 2021. The bowling of the Chennai Super Kings has surrounded Dwayne and his capabilities. Whenever Mahi came out with his yellow army, he was well assured of 4 good overs from Dwayne Bravo.

Dwayne Bravo played for the West Indies national team for quite a few years before announcing retirement in 2015 sighting disputes with the West Indies Cricket Board. Bravo also made for other franchises, throughout the world.
