Associate Teams
Here is a look at the best players who deserve a chance in the IPL

The T20 World Cup 2021 has thrown light on several players from the associate nations. The associate teams seldom get a chance to play with the top-flight teams. But whenever these teams do, they show their talent in full bloom. The teams do not have a star-studded line-up but there are at times players who steal the limelight. Namibia, Scotland, Ireland, Oman, etc., all these teams have shone brightly. So, who are the players from these teams that can stand a chance in the IPL, the greatest T20 League in the world? Here’s a look: –

5) Safyaan Shariff: –

Safyaan was bowling extremely well and was clocking over 135.

This bowler from Scotland has impressed the cricket pundits. Hailing from Asian origins, Safyaan plays for the Scottish national team. Safyaan was impressed in the first game of the Super 12s. He picked 2 wickets against Afghanistan in a game where his teammates conceded runs at 12 per over. Safyaan Sharif and his precise yorkers also grabbed the eyeballs of the fans and cricket analysts. He doesn’t bowl super quick but has a fine line and length. In the game against New Zealand too, Safyaan picked 2 wickets and bowled at 7 runs per over.

4) Curtis Campher: –

4 wickets in 4 balls is not possible for everyone…isn’t it?

We often do not see a player pick 4 wickets in 4 balls, or do we? Curtis Campher, the Irish pacer did show us his abilities with the ball. Curtis was the man of the match in the game against the Netherlands. He picked the wickets of Ryan Ten Doeschate and Van De Merwe in his hattrick. These were the two most experienced players on the Dutch side. The second game against Sri Lanka wasn’t as expected as he leaked runs at 9.5 runs per over. He again doesn’t bowl super quick but has the knack of picking wickets.

3) Ruben Trumpelmann: –

Ruben Trumplemann is the Namibian Mitchell Starc.

Ruben Trumpelmann is a left-arm fast bowler who dominated the first few overs in every Namibia innings. He made things difficult for every right-handed opener. He attacked the opposition. Ruben Trumpelmann was bowling the in-swinger very well and hitting the batsman on the pads. His game against Scotland was something to cherish. He picked 3 wickets in the first over itself.  Ruben Trumpelmann if given a chance can make a mark in the IPL. He was quick, he was elite and he was precise.

2) Najibullah Zadran: –

Najibullah Zadran caught the eyes of every Indian fan when he helped Afghanistan reach 125 against New Zealand. Najib Zadran was so clinical that he scored more than 50% of the team’s runs in that innings. He along with Karim Janat was giving the Afghani’s good finishes. Najibullah Zadran was the player who rotated the strike and held the Afghanistan line up together.

1) David Wiese: –

Keeping alive the hopes of all the Namibians, David Wiese wrote a lovely script for Namibia. David who has previously played as a South African in the IPL for RCB would love to get a new contract. David was the backbone of the Namibian batting scoring over 25 runs in almost every game.
