India’s most premier fast bowler in cricket history, Jasprit Bumrah, has established himself as one of the finest pacers in world cricket before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Known for his unique bowling action, deadly yorkers, and ability to deliver under pressure, he has become a match-winner across all formats.

In recent times, Jasprit Bumrah has been carrying the load of India’s pace attack across all formats of the game. His versatility, skill, and consistency have made him indispensable to the team’s success.

During the fifth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia, Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of participation in the 2nd inning due to an injury. He is also reported to have been experiencing back spasms, which raised concerns about his availability for upcoming tours and tournaments, including the ICC Champions Trophy.

If Bumrah is unable to participate, these three bowlers can replace him in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025:

1: Mohammed Siraj

Right-arm fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has emerged as a world-class pacer, particularly excelling with the new ball. His ability to swing the ball upfront and deliver in pressure situations makes him a strong candidate to fill Bumrah’s void. His performances in the 2023 Asia Cup and World Cup have showcased his wicket-taking prowess.

In 44 ODI matches, Mohammed Siraj has taken 71 wickets with an economy of 5.18.

2: Prasidh Krishna

Right-arm tall pacer Praisdh Krishna is another option to replace the Indian seamer. His height and ability to generate bounce and pace make him a unique addition to India’s bowling lineup. He has performed consistently in ODIs and possesses the skill set to trouble batters in seaming conditions, which are often pivotal in tournaments like the Champions Trophy.

In 17 ODI matches, Prasidh Krishna has taken 29 wickets for the Indian side with an economy of 5.60.

3: Mohammed Shami

Veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami is the most reliable option to step up as India’s frontline pacer. His vast experience and proven record in ICC tournaments make him an ideal replacement. Just like Bumrah, Shami too excels in delivering wickets with the new ball. He has been a part of India’s bowling attack for over a decade, consistently performing in all conditions.

In 101 ODI matches, Mohammed Shami has taken 195 wickets for the men in blue with an economy of 5.55.
