SLvsIND: Chahal and Kuldeep to get morale boost during Sri Lanka series: VVS Laxman.

SLvsIND: Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman said the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal will get a huge boost in their confidence and must feature in the forthcoming One Dayers against Sri Lanka.

Once a vital cog for India in the white-ball format, Chahal and Kuldeep saw a steep decline in their stocks and gradually lost their places in the team.

As of now, none of Kuldeep and Chahal are India’s first-choice spin options in the 50 overs cricket.

“I would like to see them play in three ODIs because there are six spinners as you rightly mentioned. I think in ODIs, each bowler will get to play 10 overs,” Laxman said during Star Sports’ show ‘Game Plan’.

“So, the more overs they bowl, the more success they have, they will get back the confidence — especially Kuldeep Yadav.

Chahal is a consistent feature for RCB in T20 cricket, however, Kuldeep Yadav who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) does not feature in lots of games apart from their international appearances.

“Chahal is a successful and experienced bowler, he is high on confidence and a very important member, keeping in mind the T20 World Cup. I think Kuldeep requires to get his confidence back,” he added.

Suryakumar Yadav a potential for T20 World Cup 2021:

The veteran cricketer further said that Suryakumar Yadav will be a potential batsman to make it to the World Cup squad.

“I am really looking forward to seeing Suryakumar Yadav at number 3. The way he faced his first ball in international cricket that too against a quality opponent with the likes of Jofra Archer displays his confidence -this is a great opportunity!”

Laxman feels that Suryakumar Yadav should be given all six matches against Sri Lanka.
