SLvsIND: BCCI released a fresh schedule for India vs Sri Lanka limited-overs series

SLvsIND: BCCI released a fresh schedule for India vs Sri Lanka limited-overs series.

SLvsIND: The India vs Sri Lanka six games white ball series has been postponed and a new schedule has been released a day after two members of the Sri Lankan camp tested covid positive.

The batting coach of Sri Lanka Grant Flower and data analyst GT Niroshan have contracted the dreaded virus and are sent into managed isolation.

Although the tentative start of the series was expected on July 17th, BCCI secretary Jay Shah himself confirmed that the series will now kickstart on July 18th.

‘India-Sri Lanka ODI series to start on July 18 due to COVID-19 outbreak in home team camp,’ Shah told PTI.

Both the teams will first play out the three ODI matches scheduled on 18th, 20th and 23rd July followed by the T20I games slated on July 25, 27 and 29.

Another player tested covid positive:

As per a couple of reports, another Sri Lankan cricketer has been tested covid positive earlier in a day and has been sent into isolation.

Newswire.Ik confirmed that batsman Sandun Weerakkodi has tested covid positive.

It is noteworthy that Sandun is a part of a separate 13-men’s bubble who didn’t travel to the UK for limited-overs series.

With all those cases emerging in the island nation, the authorities are on alert and are performing timely inspections along with scheduled testing of the cricketers.

With more cases coming positive, the series could result in either cancellation or postponement.
