AAUS vs IND Women’s: The first T20 match of the ongoing T20 series between the Indian women’s cricket team and the Australian women’s cricket team was played at DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. The Indian team won the toss and decided to bowl the first match by nine wickets.
In the second match of the series at DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai, the Australian women’s team turned the tables, whereas after the first and second matches, both the teams were on equal footing.
After a great start in the three-match T20 series against Australia, India should have continued its momentum in the second match but it did not happen. India was humiliated in the ODI matches and had to accept a 0-3 defeat against the visiting team.
Thanks to the combined eight wickets of Titas Sadhu, Shreyanka Patil and Deepti Sharma, the host team restricted the Australian team to a modest score of 141 runs.
India performed brilliantly in the second half with Smriti Mandhana scoring 52 runs before being dismissed by Tahila McGrath. Next was Shafali Verma who scored 64 runs in 44 balls hitting six fours and three sixes. It will be interesting to see if India can deliver a similar performance for the second consecutive time in their next game.
The second T20 match between India and Australia was held on 7 January at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Australia’s performance in the current bilateral series has been excellent.
It may be that their initial T20 match may not have been in their favor, as we know that once the Kangaroo team gets the taste of victory, they try as much as possible to maintain the winning streak.
But in this series, both the teams are tied after winning one match. Both teams need a win. If India wins, it will be subjected to a lot of criticism and if Australia wins, it will be able to win both titles, in which Kangaroo Team has already won the ODI series flawlessly.
