Then, Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s legendary off-spinner, called it quits from international cricket in the middle of the series—a decision that was not expected.
Now, Ravindra Jadeja, another Indian all-rounder, has been in the headlines for a controversial reason. On Saturday, December 21, the all-rounder chatted with the reporters after the practice session. Australian Channel 7 fired shots against Jadeja, saying that he did not answer the questions on their channel. They said that the Indian all-rounder had remarked that he was getting late for the team bus and seemingly ignored them.
Channel 7 also stated that the Indian team manager had invited the Australian media, but Jadeja chose to answer the questions in Hindi (his native language). We all know Jadeja isn’t fluent in English. However, Channel 7 is frustrated that the Southpaw did not choose to answer the questions in English.

However, Indian media like RevSportz have defended Jadeja and said that he has the right to answer the questions in his native language, and the Australian media must translate it into English. They have also cited examples like Lionel Messi, who chooses to answer in Spanish as he is not fluent in English.
Earlier, Virat Kohli also landed in hot waters for a heated altercation with a Channel 7 journalist. She was recording his family and children without the consent of the former Indian captain, and Kohli was not pleased with it. The former Indian captain has always maintained his family’s privacy and not allowed the reporters to click photos of his baby. However, Channel 7 defended the act, stating that Kohli was in a public space and hence they were allowed to film their family.
The third test will kick off on December 26 at the MCG. The series is level at 1-1. If India wins the series 3-1, they will qualify for the WTC final without depending on anyone. They need one more win to retain the BGT.
