This much-awaited match is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 10, in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

It is noteworthy that for this important match, Pakistan has made important changes in its playing eleven under the captaincy of Babar Azam.

As the two giants of cricket prepare to face each other once again, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has made an important strategic change by altering the playing eleven.

In the last group stage match against India, Pakistan had selected spin all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz. However, for this important match, fast-bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf has been replaced by Nawaz.

Babar’s decision underlines the team’s intention to strengthen its fast bowling attack, especially considering the performance of the fast bowlers in their last game against India.

Pakistan’s Bowling Attack in Last Match Against India

The last time these two teams met in Pallekele on September 2, there was a spectacle of fast bowlers. All the ten wickets that fell in that match were taken by fast bowlers. Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled brilliantly by taking 4 wickets, while Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took 3 wickets each.

This was a clear indication of Pakistan’s fast bowling ability and Babar Azam looks keen to take advantage of this strength once again.

Nawaz’s expensive bowling

In the last match against India, Mohammad Nawaz proved to be expensive, and he gave 55 runs in 8 overs without taking any wickets.

His economy rate of 6.87 was the highest among Pakistani bowlers. On the other hand, Faheem Ashraf played his last match against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup, where he managed to take one wicket for 27 runs.

The decision to bring in Faheem Ashraf in place of Nawaz not only strengthens the pace attack but also provides a valuable all-rounder option for Pakistan.
