The 5th test which is to take place tomorrow is under the spotlight.

The Covid Demon seems to bother Indian Cricket a lot! Another Indian Support Staff Member has tested covid positive on the eve of the 5th test match against England. India had their last practice session at Manchester on Wednesday and was asked to move into their rooms after the session. This was a consequence of the fact that a member of the Indian Support Staff has tested positive. It is most likely Indian Physio. India’s practice session for Thursday was called off too.

Indian Physio Tests Positive: –

Earlier India’s head coach and two other members of the support staff had tested positive. After Shastri tested positive his fellow members including Bharat Arun, Nitin Patel, and R Shridhar were asked to move into isolation. It is said that of these 3, 2 had tested positive as well. It is one of India’s assistant physiotherapists who has tested positive. Yogesh Parmar it is! It is said that Rohit, Pujara, Ishant Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammad Shami are close contacts.

Earlier Ravi Shastri had tested positive after attending a book launch event!

All the players at this moment have tested negative but have to undergo another round of testing on Thursday in the evening.  The test itself remains doubtful at this moment. When asked about the current situation, this is what Sourav Ganguly had to say, “We don’t know if the match will happen at this moment.”

India VS England Series: –

Team India is 2-1 up in the series at this moment and to call off the series will be unfair to the English as they have a fair chance of equaling and getting a draw. However, the call remains in the hands of both the board members. India will be satisfied with any decision regarding the continuation of the series as they have played well throughout.

Concerning the current situation of the series, it goes as follows; India had the upper hand in the first test but due to rains the last day at Nottingham got washed out. The second test at Lords ended in a historic Indian test victory by 151 runs. England bounced back in the third test by defeating India by an innings and 76 runs at Headingly. The 4th Test was the most happening but it ended in a 157-run victory for India at the Oval. India won a test match at the Oval after 50 long years.
