ACC Premier Cup 2023: Nepal Qualifies for Asia Cup 2023: Nepal won the ACC Premier Cup 2023 after defeating United Arab Emirates(UAE) in the final by seven wickets. After winning the ACC Premier Cup, Nepal became the sixth country to qualify for Asia Cup 2023.

Nepal qualified for Asia Cup for the first time in their Cricket history, it was a great moment for the Nepal Team to play cricket against India and Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023.

ACC Premier Cup 2023 Recap:

ACC Premier Cup 2023 started on the 18th of April and ended on the 2nd of May in Nepal. Ten teams participated in this tournament and played 24 matches at two different venues in Nepal.

Ten teams are divided into two groups, each group consists of five members, and they play one match against each other. In Group A, Nepal and Oman were moved to the semi-finals, and in Group B, UAE and Kuwait moved to Semi-finals.

In Group A, Nepal won all their matches, whereas Oman won three out of four matches, both teams qualified for the semi-finals. In Group B, UAE won three out of four matches and was in first position, whereas Kuwait won three out of four matches and was in second position.

ACC Premier Cup 2023 Playoffs:

In the 1st semi-final, Nepal faced Kuwait, but due to bad weather conditions, the match was not possible to conduct, on behalf of Group Stage performance, Nepal moved to the final.

In the 2nd Semifinal, UAE faced Oman, but due to bad weather conditions, UAE defeated Oman by two runs on the basis of the DLS method.

Kuwait and Oman played a match for the 3rd and fourth positions in the tournament. Again rain spoiled the game, and the result was decided on the group stage performance. Oman won the match because their performance in the group stage was better than Kuwait.

The final is between Nepal and UAE. Poor batting performance from UAE became the main reason for their defeat in the finals against Nepal. Nepal won the match by chasing a low total of 117 runs in 30 overs by seven wickets.
