If reports by the top cricket outlets are to be believed, Eoin Morgan, the most successful England captain and the man behind the revolution of England Cricket, is set to retire from all forms of international cricket. Eoin Morgan happens to be the highest scorer of runs in ODIs for England. He is one of the top players ever produced by the English team. Morgan’s poor form, injuries, freelance cricketing offers, and age are said to be the possible reasons for this decision. Here is an in-depth look at the same:

Eoin Morgan To Set to Retire from International Cricket:

The thing about great players is that they have a standard set for themselves. The same is the case with Eoin Morgan. The England cricket team has been doing well with him being the captain. But the fact of the matter is that Morgan is giving negligible contribution with the bat. As mentioned earlier, if a great player, a legend of the game feels he is not able to contribute effectively, he or she decides to leave. We have previously seen the same with AB De Villiers, Ravi Shastri, and many more.

Morgan off-late is also having injuries that have kept him out for some while. With England white-ball cricket becoming a ruthless force and talents like Phillip Salt, Will Jacks, and many more coming in, Morgan doesn’t want to mar them of the opportunities.

Eoin Morgan Revolutionized English Cricket:

Eoin Morgan was the face of change for the England Cricket Team. After the team got outplayed in the 2015 ODI World Cup, they were looking to make a comeback. Eoin Morgan stepped in place of Sir Alastair Cook and the rest is history. Morgan introduced the punish or perish option for the England batters. He backed expressive and match-winning players like Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow. He is for England what Dada Ganguly was for the Indian team.

Morgan also happens to be the most successful ODI batter. He scored 7701 runs in 248 ODIs for the men in blue. He also represented England in 16 Test Matches and 115 T20Is. Mo has scored over 10,000 runs for the English team overall. He is the captain to revolutionize English cricket.
