ICC World Cup Qualifier 2023: The United Arab Emirates Cricket Board has announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s World Cup Qualifier 2023. The tournament is scheduled in Zimbabwe and is set to start on 18 June, 2023.
United Arab Emirates (UAE) performed outstandingly in the ICC World Cup Qualifier Play-Offs in Namibia, where they secured the second spot. This performance helped them to secure their spot for the World Cup Qualifier 2023 in Zimbabwe for the second time in history.
With his magnificent performance, they have the potential to qualify for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Mohammad Waseem is going to lead the 15- members squad of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a big ICC tournament. UAE included some experienced players like Asif Khan, Zahoor Khan and Rohan Mustafa.
A Talented batsman, Asif Khan made a sensation in international cricket with his impressive performance after creating history with his magnificent innings of 105 runs in just 41 balls against Nepal, the fourth fastest century in One Day International cricket.
He was also the top run-scorer of the Qualifier Play-Offs, scoring 296 runs at an average of 59.2. Zahoor Khan, a medium pacer of UAE, was the most successful bowler in the last event in Namibia, taking ten wickets at an average of 23.3. In the World Cup Qualifier 2023, UAE is placed in Group B and will compete against Ireland, Sri Lanka, Oman, and Scotland.
