BCCI announces financial backup for Olympic athletes travelling to Paris

The BCCI Secretary Jay Shah recently announced a significant contribution from the BCCI towards the benefit of the Indian athletes gearing themselves up for the Paris Olympics 2024. A significant 8.5 crore INR would be of great help to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

Recently, the BCCI was in the buzz for being the richest cricket association in the world leaving behind Cricket Australia by a huge margin of over 1000 crores. The financial assistance is aimed at providing aid to the Indian contingent travelling to Paris for the Olympics 2024 which is to commence on July 26th.


India is set to send 117 athletes to compete across various disciplines, alongside 140 members included in the staff, hence bringing a total contingent of 257 members. The BCCI’s financial booster will raise the morale of the Indian athletes as they strive to achieve excellence on a global platform.

The BCCI secretary also conveyed his best wishes to the parting athletes, while also motivating them to make the nation proud. This decision of the Cricket Board highlights the commitment to promote various sports disciplines on the national front.
