Barcelona led by Hansi Flick have been in the buzz as they are the forerunners to sign star Spanish winger Nico Williams. Recently, after the conclusion of the Euro 2024, the hype over the Athletic winger rose suddenly, as after witnessing the unstoppable Yamal-Williams pair in the Spanish den, Barca is also in the hunt for the same.
But the financial abilities of the Catalan club have been in doubt, as they have accounted for a very low purse. Deco recently met with Felix Tainta to offer a long-term contract for the Spaniard, and both parties seem to be positive about making the potential transfer.
The Athletic star has a release clause of €58 million, which is not possible under Barca’s recent financial condition. However, recent reports state that Joan Laporta has hinted that they have enough ability to make amends with any amount to sign the winger from Atletic Bilbao.
Barca is already known to have €100 million loan from banks across Europe to secure their losses faced from a poor season in European football. Now with raised concerns over a recent surge of financial needs, they are looking for another potential loan.
Even if the funds are placed, the club will have to manage the salary structure of the 22-year-old, as they despite low purse need to free up salary space to offer a potential breakout annual salary of €12 million.

However, this is also to be kept in mind, that the rising attacking midfielder from Spain’s successful Euro campaign, Dani Olmo is also a potential target for the La Liga giants. The former La Masia sensation is desired to be brought back to Camp Nou to account for a Spanish legendary midfield saga, alongside Gavi, Pedri and Frankie De Jong.
However, to meet the RB Leipzig star’s demands, the club will have to put their all into stake, though their primary concern for now would be to sign the winger Nico Williams and we might see a potential transfer as both parties seem eager to make it happen.
