Gerd Muller, the legendary German striker bid adieu to mankind on the 15th of August. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2015 and the very same disorientation is expected to be the cause of death. Aged 75, Gerd breathed his last. His death has come as a shock to the footballing world as football has lost one of its most prolific strikers. He represented two clubs at the professional level including FC Bayern Munich and Fort Lauderdale Strikers. While playing for Bayern, he achieved several accolades. 

Gerd Muller’s Career: – 

Gerd played 427 games for FC Bayern in the Bundesliga. While in the league, he scored 365 goals. This today is also is a long-standing record. The record is for scoring the most goals in the Liga. Gerd Muller made 62 appearances for West Germany in 15 years. In these appearances, he smoked 68 goals. Gerd Muller was majorly known for being a light-footed maestro. He had supreme ball control and the ability to make the defenders dance to his tunes. From headers to tap-ins to receiving the ball, Gerd dominated all the aspects. While playing in the Nothern American league after retiring from Bundesliga, Muller scored 40 goals for Riverdale within 3 years.
