With the seasons in all of Europe beginning this weekend, all eyes were set on how the newly formed teams will perform. From Man United with Varane and Jadon Sancho to PSG with Lionel Messi, from Man City with Grealish and Real Madrid without Ramos here is a look at how the games panned out: –
La Liga: –
Valencia 1-0 Getafe
Valencia against Getafe ended in a Valencia victory. Valencia got one goal apiece and one man was sent off from both the teams. The goal came from the foot of Carlos Soler from the penalty spot.
Mallorca 1-1 Real Betis
This game ended in a draw, with both sides scoring one goal. Brian Olivian put Mallorca ahead in the 25th minute. Before an own goal from his teammate Reina in the 59th minute.
Real Madrid 4-1 Alaves
Real Madrid, the most successful club continued its domination over Spain by beating Alaves by a formidable margin of 4-1. Benzema’s brace, a goal from Nacho, and Vinicius Jr’s goal sealed the deal for Real. Joselu did put one back in the net for Alaves but that was just a consolation.
Ligue 1: –
Lorient 1-0 Monaco
Lorient beat Monaco in the season kick-off in France. Lorient got the lead in the 31st minute when Terem Mafi scored from the penalty spot.
Nice 4-0 Lille
Nice the club from southern France was on a roll. They won the game by a margin of 4-0, thanks to a brace from Kasper Dolberg. Boudaoui and Gouiri were the other two scorers.
Paris 4-2 Strasbourg
Paris Saint Germain, the French giants began their campaign on a roll as well. It began with a two-goal victory against Strasbourg. The players who were on the scoresheet included Icardi in the 3rd minute, Mbappe in the 25th minute, Draxler the winger in the 27th minute, and Sarabia sealed the game with a goal in the 86th minute. Strasbourg, however, did try to pull back via Kevin Gameiro and Ludovic but the scoreline read 4-2.
English Premier League: –
The scorelines from the English Premier League’s first matchday are as follows: –
Brentford 2-0 Arsenal.
Arsenal’s downfall after the departure of Arsene Wenger became very evident after the lost 2-0 to second string Brentford.
Manchester United 5-1 Leeds United
Manchester United, the team that is prime contenders for the Prem, is playing smoothly. The season began with Bruno scoring a hattrick. Pogba too showed great form on the pitch with a hattrick of assists.

Watford 3-2 Aston Villa
