Dani Olmo Spotted at Camp Nou - Confirms La Liga move for Barcelona

FC Barcelona has been in the buzz, since the arrival of Flick in La Liga. In the reduced chances of signing Nico Williams, Barca shifted their focus onto Dani Olmo. However, Olmo came into the limelight when Pedri got injured unfortunately during the Quarter-finals against Germany, Dani Olmo was brought into the field. He put on a stellar performance, as Olmo scored their first goal and also set up a chance for a brilliant header which Moreno put at the back of the nets.


The Spanish attacking midfielder excelled for either club he played for as he took them off the boundaries of just their home leagues to the Champions League, a major feat in itself. He also had a stunning season with Leipzig in the Bundesliga 2023-24, before he was recognised for a potential move back to Spain.

Olmo was one of those many players who began their youth career for Barca’s academy at La Masia. He went on to play for Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb and emerged successful mostly with Bundesliga team RB Leipzig, playing in the Champions League with either team.

However, Olmo came into the limelight when Pedri got injured unfortunately during the Quarter-finals against Germany, Dani Olmo was brought into the field. He put on a stellar performance, as Olmo scored their first goal and also set up a chance for a brilliant header which Moreno put at the back of the nets.

Next Olmo scored in the semis as well against France, which was their winning goal against the French side. While Olmo didn’t score in the Finals, with a stunning headed goalline clearance in the ending minutes of the game, he remained a star. This brought him as a legendary player and clubs from around the world eyed him.

The move is probably a 60m Euros move to the La Liga giants, as he was seen at Camp Nou on Friday, to sign a six-year contract. Olmo will reunite with his Spanish friends, Pedri, Gavi and Yamal at Camp Nou.

Two Cups and a Super Cup with the RB Leipzig team, Olmo has bid an emotional goodbye to the Bundesliga team with a cryptic social media post. After signing for Flick, he will probably be seen in action with Barca from next Saturday, as they kick off their La Liga campaign with a match against Valencia.
