Disappointment is the only word that could describe the Barcelona star Pedri’s exit from the field in just the 8th minute of the quarterfinal clash against host Germany. Spain and Germany played a neck-to-neck, spine-chilling contest in the quarterfinals of the Euro 2024 at Stuttgart.
The Barcelona star fell to the extended right leg of Toni Kroos when he was making a run into the German half. The young Spanish superstar could not stay long in Spain’s dramatic victory over the host nation, as he left the field in tears, likely guessing his probable end to the Euro campaign with Spain.
After the injury, it was reported by trustworthy sources like Sports.es that according to the FIFA club protection program rules, the UEFA will have to pay an amount of $22,000 every day to the Barcelona team, as the injury occurred during international duty. This has a condition that Pedri should be injured enough to be ruled out of the game for over a month, that is, a tenure of 4 weeks or more.
However, with strong morale, Pedri was seen celebrating in the Spanish dugout after their entry into the semi-finals of Euro 2024. Despite his injury and being ruled out of participation, further in the competition for the La Roja side, he will be seen on the bench for Spain, as he deserves a winner’s medal if Spain goes on to secure the Euro 2024 title.

Pedri had immense contributions to Spain’s brilliance in the group-stage games and even shot to quickfire action against Germany by shooting a cracker at Neuer’s goal in only the 7 minutes he stayed on board at Stuttgart. Pedri would hence remain a part of Luis de la Fuente’s team, as he would not let his dream be dampened by the misfortunes of an injury and will look to recover from yet another injury by staying in the La Roja camp.
