Pedri has extended his contract till 2026.

The football world can at times be a very interesting place. It can pick you up from the earth and push you up till the high skies. The same has seemed to happen with Barcelona star mid-fielder Pedro Gonzalez better known as Pedri. Pedri has extended his contract with Barcelona up to 2026 with a release clause of 1 billion Euros. This evaluates to approximately 1.15 billion Dollars. The 18-year-old has already been the talk of the town and this deal secures him a place in one of the world’s top clubs. Here is a look: – 

Pedri Signs Contract with Barcelona: – 

Pedri the ace mid-fielder has signed a deal with Barcelona for a contract extension till 2026. What is more astonishing is the fact that Barcelona has priced Pedri as an asset worth 1 billion Euros. He has signed a written agreement stating that he will leave at that cost! This comes as a consequence of the fact that FC Barcelona is facing a financial crisis and do not want to lose out on one of their prodigies.  

Pedri was bought from second division football club Las Palmas in the 2020 season and since then he has been a good investment. Pedri is magical on the pitch. He makes football look easy as ever. Pedri at times is said to be the Spanish Foden. He has a good vision and great passing skills add to his arsenal. His through balls are game-changing. Pedri can hold the game.

The announcement of the deal was made by the official Twitter handle of FC Barcelona. Pedri played for the club in 53 games in his debut season, the most by any player for Barcelona. Pedro helped Barcelona win the Copa Del Rey and give a good contest in the La Liga.

The official contract signing is due on Friday, 15th October 2021. Here Pedri is going to have a word with Barcelona President Joan Laporta. A press conference has also been scheduled for Friday. Several journalists and outlets have reported the same data including Fabrizio Romaro and Football Daily.  

Pedri was named the “Youngster of the Season” for the 2020 Liga season. He was also nominated in the “Euro Team of the Tournament”. While playing for Spain in the Euros, he also set the record as the youngest player to play for Spain at the Euro finals. He also helped Spain win the Silver in their Tokyo Olympics campaign.
