IPL 2025: The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League will get underway in March 2025, but the preparation for that season is in full swing. Recently, the BCCI had a meeting with all IPL owners to discuss the auction, retention, RTM, Impact Player Rule, and other things. All ten teams can only retain four players in the IPL 2025. That means all the other players will be released.
Some big names will be released because a team with a strength of 22-25 players can only retain four players. Every team needs to take some big decisions. Most of the retentions will be made on the basis of the performance in the last season. So we might see some uncapped players getting retained. In this article, we will talk about three uncapped stars who might get retained ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.
IPL 2025: Three Uncapped Indian Players who might be surprisingly retained for next season
3. Shashank Singh (Punjab Kings)
Shashank Singh was signed by Punjab Kings at the 2024 auction for INR 20 lakh. There was some news that the franchise signed a wrong Shashank. But the way he performed throughout the tournament, he proved many wrongs. He played all 14 matches.
Shashank scored a total of 354 runs at an average of 44.25 and a strike rate of 164.65, with two half-centuries. The right-hander will get more money if he gets released, but PBKS doesn’t have many players to retain. Hence, he can be retained in the IPL 2025.
2. Mayank Yadav (Lucknow Super Giants)
There were a few uncapped Indian stars who did well in the IPL 2024. But one name that made everyone remember his name was Mayank Yadav. The 22-year-old speedster bowled a ball at 157 km/h.
But he was injured and didn’t’ feature in many games. But he made the name of himself with two Man of the Match performances in his first two IPL games and with his speed. There are chances that LSG might release Mayank Yadav in the IPL 2025.
1. Nitish Reddy (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
