Veteran Indian legend Rahul Dravid was one of the very reasons for India’s immense success in the T20 World Cup in the United States. He will be regarded as one of the greatest coaches in the history of Indian cricket, and undoubtedly he has been regarded as one of the best.

Under Dravid’s reign, India went on to feature in the T20 World Cup semi-finals of 2022, then a year later they played their second edition of the World Test Championship final game; however, despite valiant efforts, they lost either game to England and Australia, respectively.

The first major success under Rahul Dravid’s reign came in the Cricket World Cup 2023, which was held in India, as the hosts emerged undefeated into the finals of the World Cup, thanks to an all-round brilliance from skipper Sharma to veteran Virat and experienced Iyer and Rahul as well. However, after Team India fell short of the cup with the Aussies winning it, their major success emerged with Team India in the T20 World Cup, once again undefeated, India entered the finals.

India turned the fortunes, as they pulled a stellar match, as India defended just 30 runs in 30 balls. Bumrah, Pandya, and Arshdeep pulled off the game for India and gave Dravid the veteran the long-deserved respect he deserved for being such a loyal servant to Indian cricket.

After, the T20 World Cup triumph, he left his position as the Indian head coach, and since then he has been enjoying major attention from clubs and franchises worldwide. The first major speculated interest came from the house of Kolkata Knight Riders, as it was in the buzz that he would likely replace the likes of Gautam Gambhir, who left the position of KKR mentor vacant after he was named the new Indian head coach.

However, later on, KKR did not show any such interest, and hence the speculation did not resurface, with Rajasthan Royals, Dravid’s years-old franchise also emerging as forerunners to place the veteran in place of a legendary Kumara Sangakara, the director of cricket for the Royals. This buzz still remains one of the best opportunities for the Indian veteran Rahul Dravid.
