WTC Final 2023: Ashwin, Head, Warner and Bharat: Big Talking Points in World Test Championship Final

WTC Final 2023: R Ashwin & Travis Head

WTC Final 2023: Ashwin, Head, Warner and Bharat: Big Talking Points in World Test Championship Final: The ICC World Test Championship Final 2023 started with Australia Batting first and scoring 327 runs on Day 1 while Indian Team was playing with four Seamers in English conditions. Still, surprisingly there was no space for World No. 1 Test Bowler Ravichandran Ashwin.

Australia started Day 1 by losing the wicket of Usman Khawaja, but after that, David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne made a small partnership, but both got out, and Australia was 73/3 at that time. Steve Smith and Travis Head made a partnership of 251 runs and led their team to 327 runs by the end of Day 1.

Travis Head follows England’s Bazball way in English Conditions:

Travis Head knocked a brilliant century on day 1 of the ICC World Test Championship 2023 Final between Australia and India. Travis Head scored his first hundred away from home and scored 146* runs, which is his fourth-highest Test score. Head partnered with Steve Smith, which may take the game away from India.

Why was Ashwin not in the Playing11 for WTC Final 2023?

Ravichandran Ashwin is World’s No. 1 Test bowler, and this was the sixth Test in England when India didn’t include Ravichandran Ashwin in the Playing11, why the Team Management didn’t take Ashwin in playing11?

The decision by Team Captain and manager may be right or wrong, and at this point in time, we couldn’t blame anyone for any decision. India has started well as Seamers has taken three wickets early in the Day at The Oval. But after Lunch, their Seamers didn’t use the conditions most as the sunshine came early and the rest of the Day favours Australian Batters.

In the last ICC WTC Final, when Team India included two spinners (Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja ) in the English Conditions was a bad decision, and it was because they were quite less useful than Seamers in the swinging conditions two years ago at southampton.

This Time in the Oval, the Pitch was a 6mm layer of grass, which is quite helpful for Seamers than Spinners in overcast Conditions, but It is when there will be no sunshine.
