WPL 2024: RCB Into the Finals After Defeating Mumbai Indians by 5 Runs in Eliminator | Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore Women defeated Mumbai Indians in the WPL 2024 Eliminator by 5 runs at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi. After Winning the match, RCB went into the WPL 2024 Finals which will be played on March 17, 2024, against Delhi Capitals at the same venue.

Royal Challengers Bangalore played exceptional cricket in the WPL 2024 which led them into the Finals, Skipper Smriti Mandhana led the team from front as she played some matching knocks for the team. RCB was able to win only two games in the WPL 2023 but they improved their weak areas and now, RCB qualified for the finals in the 2nd edition.

The Player of the match was Ellyse Perry as she scored 66 runs in 50 balls with eight fours and one six whereas she also took one wicket with the ball. Perry was the only batter, who stood alone against the robust bowling attack of Mumbai Indians therefore she led her team to a decent 135 runs on the scoreboard.

WPL 2024 Eliminator MI-W vs RCB-W Match Summary:

RCB won the toss and they batted first but this decision didn’t go in their favour as they lost a couple of wickets in the powerplay. However, Australian star player Ellyse Perry played exceptional cricket and scored 66 runs in 50 balls whereas other players did not even score 20+ runs in this match for RCB.

In the end, RCB scored 135 runs on the scoreboard with a loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. From the Mumbai Indians bowling department, Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Saika Ishaque took two wickets each in this match at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi.

In the second Inning, Mumbai Indians had a decent start as they lost only one wicket in the powerplay but they failed to capitalize in the middle overs which built pressure on the batters and then they lost some back-to-back wickets in the death overs. MI needed 12 runs in the last over but they were able to score 6 runs and hence lost the match.

Mumbai Indians skipper Harmanpreet Kaur played a decent inning of 33 runs in 30 balls whereas Kiwi batter Amelia Kerr scored 27 runs in 25 balls. From the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowling department, Shreyanka Patil took two wickets whereas Ellyse Perry, Georgia Wareham, Sophie Molineux and Sobhana Asha took one wicket each.
